It was always a good story. Alan Teare starts the Manx Telecom Parish Walk as a 49 year old and finishes as a 50 year old in a personal best time of 20 hours 50 minutes and 10 seconds.
But nobody could have written this part of the script - his fifth Parish Walk finish made him the 2,000th ever finisher.
